The Calgary Dance Collective is made up of 6 unique facilitators with diverse backgrounds in dance, somatics, meditation, spiritual practice, subconscious techniques, and therapeutic healing. We came together in December of 2025 with a shared intention to strengthen Calgary’s embodied dance community and create accessible spaces for healing, self-expression, and connection through movement. As the first dance collective of its kind in the city, we curate weekly offerings where each facilitator shares their unique practice - we gather regularly on Saturdays from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at The Archive Collective. At our core, we each believe the body is wise, and community is built through shared embodied experience.
The Calgary Dance Collective is a community-based organization dedicated to cultivating embodied dance as a practice of connection, expression, and collective wellbeing. Our mission is to offer an inclusive and intentional weekly dance session where adults can explore a wide range of guided movement practices led by devoted facilitators. We cultivate a safe and sacred environment that supports freedom of expression, deep connection with body, mind, and spirit, and the growth of meaningful community through the shared language of dance.
We envision a future where conscious dance is a vital force in Calgary, and worldwide - where people gather to listen to the intelligence of their bodies, movement is recognized as medicine, and dance communities flourish as places of healing, creativity, and belonging. By empowering innovative facilitators to share their practice to expand the dance ecosystem in Calgary, we aim to elevate collective wellbeing and ignite a culture of embodied connection that transforms individuals and community.
